CapCut 4.0 Adds AI Captions and Background Removal

CapCut just dropped version 4.0. Two big features worth knowing about.

AI Captions

Auto-generates captions from your audio. Claims 50 languages now. Hit a button, it transcribes, syncs text to speech.

Accuracy is better than before. Like noticeably better. Still struggles with heavy accents and overlapping audio but clean speech comes out pretty clean.

Huge time saver if you’ve been manually adding captions. Which you should be doing – most people watch with sound off.

Background Removal

One-click removes backgrounds from video clips. The AI figures out what’s you and what’s not.

Works best with good lighting and contrast between you and whatever’s behind you. Dark subject against dark background? It struggles. Bright subject against white wall? Pretty clean.

Processing time depends on your device and clip length. Don’t expect instant on a five-minute clip.

If you make short-form content, yeah. These features eliminate hours of tedious work. The caption thing alone is worth updating for.
